Executive Director, Helmwood

Melissa Smith BSW, LNHA serves as the director of the Helmwood community in Elizabethtown. She holds an associate degree in human services from Elizabethtown Community and Technical College and a bachelor’s degree in social work from Western Kentucky University. She is also a licensed nursing home administrator in the state of Kentucky.

Melissa resides in Elizabethtown with her husband and four children and enjoys spending time with my family, watching her kids play sports, and cheering on the University of Kentucky Wildcats in football and basketball. She is passionate about working with the elderly population, which grew from spending many summers with her grandparents. She especially enjoys their stories, recipes, laughs, and their love for each other and their families.
